Tut was only nine years old when he became a Pharaoh. Tut died at the age 19. When he died the Egyptians did not have any time to build his tomb. King Tut's tomb was very small compared to the other tombs. The tomb was overlooked for a lot of years. Somewhere around the 1920 to 1922 an archaeologist named Howard Carter went in King Tut's tomb. Robbers might have been there because there were bags and bags of gold scattered everywhere. Carter and his team found a lot of treasure in the tomb, including a solid gold mask on Tut's face. The artifacts told scientists and Carter a great deal about Egyptian life. Many people in the world want to learn about King Tut and his treasures.
